RSA Expands Passwordless Authentication with Windows Desktop Login and Entra ID Integration

RSA, the security company, has introduced new capabilities aimed at helping security-conscious organizations modernize their identity infrastructure and reduce authentication risks. Announced at Identiverse 2025, the updates bring expanded support for Microsoft Entra ID and RADIUS environments, furthering RSA’s push to enable passwordless access across diverse IT landscapes.

The latest features, available through the RSA ID Plus platform, allow passwordless login to Windows desktops using mobile passkeys and QR codes. This will also include support for Entra ID-joined devices, enabling organizations with Microsoft identity frameworks to adopt a consistent passwordless experience across their endpoints.

To streamline adoption, RSA is rolling out a one-step enrollment process for its mobile passkeys and multifactor authentication (MFA) tools. The goal is to reduce help desk overhead and remove friction for end users by simplifying how they activate and manage authentication methods.

For environments still reliant on RADIUS, a protocol widely used in legacy systems, RSA is introducing code matching capabilities. This enhancement is designed to mitigate risks associated with prompt bombing and ensure passwordless adoption doesn’t compromise backward compatibility.

RSA is also addressing security concerns that can persist even after passwordless authentication is deployed. Two newly introduced features, Help Desk Live Verify and Mobile Lock, aim to close gaps that attackers often exploit. Help Desk Live Verify adds a layer of identity validation for support teams, reducing the likelihood of social engineering-based breaches. Meanwhile, Mobile Lock monitors the integrity of user devices, identifying signs of tampering, malware, or adversary-in-the-middle (AiTM) attacks.
